What is Moodle?

A few examples of how faculty often use Moodle is:

  • Sharing resources – Course Outline, PowerPoints, handouts, articles etc.
  • Posting announcements
  • Using the Gradebook
  • Creating Assignments and Quizzes
  • Using Groups to manage group assignments and online discussions
  • Facilitating online discussions using Forums
  • Creating interactive activities using H5P for formative feedback

How do I access it?

All you need to do to access Moodle is use your TRU network credentials to login at: https://moodle.tru.ca/.

TRU creates course shells and enrols students for all courses being offered each semester. Once you are logged in you will see Moodle course shells for the courses you are assigned to teach. To request a course shell for a course that will not be entered in Banner (TRU’s student information system) and thus not automatically generated, please complete the online Course Request Form.
