What is Moodle?
Moodle is TRU’s Learning Management System (LMS). It is an open source platform that can be used to support course delivery methods such as in-person, blended, or online.

How do I access it?
All you need to do to access Moodle is use your TRU network credentials to login at: https://moodle.tru.ca/.
TRU creates course shells and enrols students for all courses being offered each semester. Once you are logged in you will see Moodle course shells for the courses you are assigned to teach. To request a course shell for a course that will not be entered in Banner (TRU’s student information system) and thus not automatically generated, please complete the online Course Request Form.

A resource for OL students to learn to navigate Moodle and their courses, and to help them identify effective study habits for studying at a distance. Includes both written and video instructions for recording and uploading video to Moodle using Kaltura.

What technologies can I use with Moodle?
The following technologies are integrated directly in Moodle allowing for easy access.
BigBlueButton
BigBlueButton is a virtual classroom software for synchronous discussions or lectures between students and instructors. It is integrated directly into Moodle, or can be accessed outside of Moodle for guest lecturers!
H5P
You can create H5P activities that can be embedded in Moodle. Also, you can assign students the “H5P Creator” role in Moodle and they can make their own H5P activities!
Kaltura
You can create and upload videos to Kaltura and embed them into Moodle. Also, students can upload videos to Kaltura and link to them in course assignments.
